With a touch of technology and a big dash of the holidays, a new pass makes it easier — and cheaper — to visit the city’s museums and attractions.
The free Historic Holiday Pass, by Visit Philadelphia and PECO, offers discounts at dozens of museums, shops and restaurants, now through Dec. 31.
Residents and visitors can simply download the pass on their phones or print a copy, show it to the participating attraction, and score a deal.
Amy Needle, Historic Philadelphia president and CEO, said the pass is meant to encourage people to enjoy the holidays, no matter how they choose to celebrate.
“The great thing about the pass is that there are events from military marches to boat parades to menorah lightings to tree lighting and Kwanzaa celebrations, all capping off on Dec. 31,” she said. “We wanted you to get the best opportunity to see all the events and sites, and we thought saving money at all these locations would get people around.”
Some places offer $2 off admission, 10% or 20% off gift store purchases, or free tickets.
