NEW JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — If you're going to be stuck in traffic at the start of Memorial Day weekend, at least it'll be free.

At least 1 million people will be traveling throughout New Jersey for the holiday — more than a quarter on the Atlantic City Expressway alone.

If you plan on driving along the expressway Friday during rush hour — between 5 and 6 p.m. — your toll will be free at the Egg Harbor exit, and Chickie's & Pete's is picking up the tab.

And leading up to free tolls, you can score free Crabfries at the Frank Farley Travel Plaza between noon and 4 p.m. In addition to some family-friendly fun, the plaza will offer giveaways, free food samples from popular vendors, and demonstrations by area police.

The New Jersey State Police will land one of its helicopters, and kids can check out other rescue equipment. Its dog search and rescue team will also do a demonstration, and other rescue and farm animals will be on site for kids to meet.

Chickie's & Pete's is offering its Free Toll Friday for a sixth year in honor of the CEO's father and uncle, who were in the military.
