PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Harry Donahue, the legendary voice of Temple University sports and longtime KYW Newsradio anchor, was honored by the university on Sunday with induction into their Ring of Honor.

Donahue had big dreams of playing in the Big 5 but soon found the broadcasting route was a better one to pursue. He began working with Temple in 1984, broadcasting Owls football games. In 2002, Donahue became the play-by-play voice of Temple men's basketball.

Donahue, who also served as an anchor at KYW Newsradio until his retirement in 2014, was inducted into the Temple Basketball Ring of Honor at halftime during the Temple-Villanova game.

"The players that I met, the coaches, of course," he recounted. "John Chaney, Fran Dunphy, Aaron McKie, and all the managers and all the fans. They make it happen."

Donahue added there was no better day to go into the Ring of Honor than on an afternoon when the Big 5 was on display.
