But parking lots were empty, and many places seem to still be in setup mode.

At the Matador Oceanfront Resort, owner Robert DeMonte said they won't be checking anybody in until next week.

“We decided safety first, let’s wait for everything to come in, to sanitize rooms, stuff like that,” he explained.

“We bought, it's like a five gallon chemical, it kills 99.9%. We’re going to apply it with a paint gun sprayer,” he added.

Guests won't be able to go to their rooms until an hour after that’s applied. He said workers will be checking their temperatures daily and wearing masks.

After losing out on Memorial Day weekend, DeMonte said they have some catching up to do.

Even though the short-term rental ban is over as of today in Wildwood some places aren’t checking guests in right away. This motel is open for business though @KYWNewsradio pic.twitter.com/7nZA9XV78d

Marguerite Wish already has rooms occupied at her Sahara Motel, but she said not everyone is ready for a shore visit

'I’m still getting a lot of cancellations. They’re moving their reservations over to 2021,” she explained.

But for the people who do stay, Wish said it’s safety first for them.

"We’re doing a lot of things different. Check in, we have up guards, we have hand sanitizer. We fog all the rooms. We fog all the furniture outside, we disinfect everything. We’re not supplying bedspreads or blankets on the beds, we inform our customers they have to bring their own,” she said.

In Delaware, Gov. John Carney is lifting his 14-day quarantine for out-of-state travelers Monday as he allows short-term rental to begin that same day. Outdoor Weddings and graduation ceremonies will also be allowed starting Monday as long as there 250 people or less.
