PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Sixers arrive in Disney World on Thursday, three weeks before the NBA hopes to resume the season.

After the team touches down in Orlando, they’ll quarantine and get tested for the coronavirus. Their first scheduled practice is Saturday afternoon.

Mike Scott says he isn’t sure what’s it’s going to be like in the NBA’s campus environment.

"We just can only go off of what people saying, explaining what’s gonna be like down there, and giving us ideas of what’s to come, but we really don’t really know," Scott said.

Their first scheduled scrimmage will be July 24, and the first actual game will be Aug. 1.

But Sixer Josh Richardson says, with no fans in the stands, every game will feel like a scrimmage.

"We’ll definitely have to bring our own energy. It’s gonna be like scrimmages, I guess, the whole time. It’s gonna be like the AAU Tournament Of The Century," Richardson said.

"I’m not excited to be in that situation, be in that setting, but I’m excited to play. I’m excited to go to war with my teammates. There’s a silver lining to everything, so yeah, I’m excited for it."

He says the Sixers will have to be more vocal and consistent. He thinks that’s why they struggled on the road back when the season was happening.

If the season proceeds as hoped, and the Sixers do well, they could be there for about three months.
