PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Preventive medicine is the key to good health, but many people have fallen behind in taking key steps thanks to the shutdown of many important services for several months.

One key area is keeping up with your children's immunizations.

Over the past few years, there was a growing movement in the country challenging the need for childhood immunizations.

But the experience of covid-19 and the knowledge about the issues involved with not having a vaccine have somewhat changed that.

Fortunately, we have vaccines for many of the major childhood illnesses, but it’s important to get the vaccines on time and complete the necessary series of shots.
