Chiwendu Charles graduated with a master's degree in May. She says, since then, she's struggled to find a job to pay back those burdensome student loans.
"I am struggling to try to find something worthwhile," Charles said. "Positions available to me, they're paying $12-15 an hour. Right now I cannot live on that salary, so I'm looking for something that pays well, and this job fair because its for nonprofit organizations should have positions that are worthwhile but also good for the world."
She was one of the dozens who wandered around the Free Libary's foyer, talking to employers about opportunities. President and Executive Director Siobhan Reardon says the support doesn't end at the job fair.
"It's all about ensuring the Free Library's promise around economic support, economic development, you as an individual, and how we support that life journey," she said.
They also offer one-on-one appointments to help with career advice, resume critiques and more.
