Sean Kratz gave a detailed confession to Bucks County detectives as part of a negotiated plea to three counts of third-degree murder. The first few minutes of the recording of his confession were played. Kratz is clearly warned that if he withdraws from the plea, it could be used against him.

He backed out of the plea last May at the last minute. His attorney, Charles Peruto, argues the confession should not be played for a jury because, Peruto argues, the lawyer who negotiated the deal never told Kratz it has a minimum of 59 years in prison.
His cousin and co-defendant, Cosmo Dinardo, went forward with his plea, pleading guilty to four counts of first-degree murder and getting four consecutive life sentences.
Kratz’s defense team also argued prosecutors should not be allowed to seek the death penalty, in part because Cosmo Dinardo was given multiple life-in-prison sentences, and, they contend, Dinardo’s actions were much worse than Kratz’s.
