Police identify man killed in South Philly shooting, search for gunman

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are looking for the gunman who shot and killed a man in South Philadelphia late Thursday night.

Police responded to the area of Sheridan Street and West Ritner Street just after 11:30 p.m. after hearing several gunshots. Police Captain Ray Evers says the officers found a man in his early to mid-30s who had been shot multiple times.

Evers said he was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified as 29-year-old Rahseul Maven. 

"Third District officers are working with any witnesses that may have seen something to put some information out to the public in reference to who the perpatrators were," Evers said.

No arrests have been made, and the victim has not been identified.
