Philadelphia Police Department

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Maurice Hill, the man accused of shooting six Philadelphia police officers during an eight-hour standoff in Nicetown last summer, will go to trial on additional attempted murder and reckless endangerment charges.

During a preliminary hearing Thursday, two dozen police officers testified to what happened when they surrounded the home near 15th Street and Erie Avenue in August 2019.

On the 22 charges held over on attempted murder, Assistant District Attorney Danielle Burkavage said the judge went from withholding bail to $100,000 on each charge. Bail was set at 10% each, which comes out to 10% of $2.2 million.

Another hearing is set for April on an additional two dozen attempted murder charges.
