Camden Works is an initiative to help the city's residents find jobs in an array of fields like construction, information technology, hospitality and maintenance.
"Camden Works is primarily designed to build the next level of foundation in the city," explained Kris Kolluri, president of the Cooper's Ferry Partnership, one of the nonprofits involved in the four-year pilot program.
They are looking to work with college grads, recent high school grads, people in re-entry and displaced workers to pair them with businesses in the area in careers best suited for their skill set.
About $2.5 billion worth of capitol investments have been invested into the city to build parks, roads and employment, which Kolluri said will help sustain Camden in the long term.
The organization launched its website Monday as a domain where people can get help finding out about jobs and job training opportunities.
"We've already started collecting some names and resumes of folks who are interested in being part of it, so that work has already started," Kolluri said.
