WILLIAMSTOWN, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — Fans aren’t yet allowed to attend Eagles games — which, of course, means no tailgating at Lincoln Financial Field. A South Jersey drive-in wants to give fans a chance to be together — yet distant — on game days.

No tailgating outside the Linc means fans are losing one of the most enjoyable parts of the game day experience, and the people at the Rhythm and Reels Drive-In are doing the best they can to fill that void.

“We have 150 COVID-compliant parking spots," Manager Rocco Gallelli said. "Each parking spot is sold for $40 each. People can bring their grills, their food, their pizzas — whatever they want to bring.”

Gallelli says football fans can also order food there while the game is shown on a 40-foot screen.

He says they are trying to do this without any legal trouble from the league.

"I’ve contacted the NFL itself, and I’m waiting for a call back," he said. "I believe, because we have a commercial cable package, that it’s OK to be able to broadcast."

KYW Newsradio has reached out to the NFL for comment.

Gallelli says safety there is a top priority. The portable toilets there will be cleaned after each use, and anyone who leaves the area next to their car is asked to wear a mask.
