PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Philadelphia police officer was injured in the Logan section of the city Monday night after a long car pursuit.
At around 8 p.m. Monday night, a robbery suspect fired shots at police along 42nd Street and Broad Street then fled, leading police on a high speed chase.
Police pursued the suspect to Broad Street and Hunting Park Avenue where the suspect rammed the officer's patrol car with their truck, injuring the officer, then continued along Broad Street, where one suspect was taken into custody along W. Somerville Avenue.
The crash caused some damage to front, driver's side of the police vehicle.
The officer was taken to Roxborough Hospital with a minor injury and is expected to be treated and released.
