Montco flagmaker gets waiver to supply Star and Stripes for vets’ graves

GILBERTSVILLE, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A Montgomery County company has been granted a waiver by the Wolf administration to send out their inventory of American flags for placement on the graves of veterans in time for Memorial Day weekend.

Dan Ziegler, president of The Flag Zone in Douglass Township, said he appealed for the waiver for weeks and was turned down.

Ziegler said he’s been trucking the flags out to counties across the state since the weekend.

“Montgomery County received their flags before the shutdown, so they’re not on my list of counties right now,” he said. “However, in the area, Chester County, Bucks County, Berks County, Delaware County — those are the counties locally.”
