In its ruling Friday, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court said the evidence presented at Eric Frein's trial was sufficient to support a first-degree murder conviction and death penalty.
Frein was found guilty two years ago of shooting and killing Cpl. Bryon Dickson outside the Blooming Grove barracks in the Poconos.
A second trooper, Alex Douglass, was seriously wounded in the attack.
After a 48-day manhunt, U.S. Marshals captured Frein on the grounds of a unused airfield near Tannersville, Pa., on Oct. 30, 2014.
The Supreme Court's ruling upholds the decision by the Pike County Court of Common Pleas.
