The keys now are made from recycled plastic and come in the shapes of red and purple lions, bears and gorillas. Members get green alligators.
The zoo keepers who work with animals day in and day out are the sound in the solar-powered audio story book that unlocks with the keys.
"Yeah, I think its nice to give people that additional insight when they come to the zoo. Guests can put their key in the box and learn a little bit more about the animals maybe they didn't know before," said bird curator Ian Gereg, who is also the voice behind the story book at the flamingo exhibit.

The LEGO animals are part of the Creatures of Habitat exhibit running now through Sept. 30.
