The Phillies sold 100,000 tickets the same day they reportedly landed the free agent, according to Senior Vice President for Ticket Operations John Weber.
"It was a crazy couple of hours," he said. "We kept the phones on late. We have full staff and it was all hands on deck. It's something that we had been preparing for for a couple of months — just like the rest of us, waiting to see if this was going to happen or not."

Weber said telephone staff stayed an hour-and-a-half late to accommodate the surge of Harper-fueled demand. He noted there was more interest in season tickets as well, and online sales continued overnight.
"We were already staffing up. We were already preparing for a great season with the previous moves, and this just put us over the top," he said. "But at the same time, we have plenty of seats to sell."
Weber said the Phils had a season ticket base of 9,500 last season. Already, it's at 11,000, and with Harper on board, he believes it could go up to 14,000 by opening day.
