Police say Shaliayah Davis, four-months pregnant, with her boyfriend around 2:30 p.m. inside their Ford Escape, parked on Berks Street, near 25th Street, when someone began firing into the car.
A bullet struck the 25-year-old woman in the head. Davis was taken to the hospital, where both she and the fetus died just before 7 p.m.
The boyfriend, who officers say was also armed, and who they say was the intended target, ran from the scene, with the suspected shooter trailing him.
Officers are still searching for the shooter and the boyfriend, and any motive behind the shooting remains unclear. Anyone with information is urged to call police.
