Around 9 p.m. on Dec. 10, police say the couple went to a Target store on Baltimore Pike. The woman was holding a young child, and the man was holding a car seat with a baby in it. They loaded a cart full of formula and tried to walk out without paying.
When a security worker approached them, the man threw the car seat, with the baby still strapped in it, on the floor, and they ran away. Security took care of the infant and called 911.
The woman came back for the baby before police arrived.
According to the Springfield Township Police Department, this was the second attempted theft of baby formula that night.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call police.
