PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — For the second time in three days, Philadelphia police are investigating a shooting with more than a handful of victims.

This time, police say, it was a shooting in Hunting Park that left six people wounded around 1 a.m. Friday. Officials say feuds between gangs in the neighborhood may be to blame for the violence.

Friday morning, the crime scene unit had 20 yellow evidence markers placed around the sidewalk at Broad and Colwyn streets, close to Hunting Park Avenue. Investigators examined bullet after bullet.

A woman who lives across the street says she heard the gunhots when chaos erupted overnight. She didn't give her name. She says it wasn't exactly a surprise; this wasn’t a one-time thing.

“Everyday it’s something happening on the strip and it’s hard living here," she said.

She says she’s always worried, especially for her kids.

According to police, one of the victims returned fire.

Overall, cops say, least 20 shots were fired.

One of the victims made his way into a house to try to get help. A medic unit picked one up victim, and most of the others were driven to the hospital. All of them are expected to recover.

This follows a shooting at a North Philadelphia apartment complex that left one dead and six wounded on Wednesday.

“We’re finding most of this violence is gang-related," Deputy Police Commissioner Melvin Singleton said. "Groups versus groups."

Singleton says police are always concerned about the potential for innocent people being caught in the crossfire.

"This is very, very serious and hazardous to the community," he said.

No one has been arrested. Police say video of the shooting was captured on a surveillance camera, and they hope people come forward with information.
