NORRISTOWN, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — The prosecution has wrapped up their case against a 36-year-old who was charged with first-degree murder for allegedly killing his girlfriend and her unborn child.
On the final day of testimony from prosecution witnesses, jurors heard from Montgomery County Detective Todd Richard, who explained the case against Tristian Jones.
Richard said Jones bought clothes and a knife and cutting board set from a department store near the home of the victim, Eboney White, on the day of the murder, Feb. 19, 2018.
Those clothes fit the description given by the victim's 12-year-old daughter, who said she saw a man in the apartment wearing tan Timberland boots, a gray sweatshirt and sweatpants.

The detective testified they never found the clothes, the knife or the Timberlands, but they did find an empty shoe box in Jones' closet for a pair that match the description.
Jurors also heard from Dr. Khalil Wardak from the Montgomery County Coroner's Office. He performed the autopsy and detailed several wounds to White's throat, several of which, he said, would have been fatal by themselves.
White was about 33 weeks pregnant with Jones' child. The fetus did not survive the attack. Wardak said there were no wounds to the unborn child, but it died from a lack of oxygen.
Prosecutors noted Jones' wife did not know about the affair with White or the pregnancy.
