PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The coronavirus pandemic has been uncharted territory for everyone, and researchers are looking for what can be learned from the experience.
Dr. Todd Manini, at the University of Florida Institute on Aging, says he hopes to learn what resources are needed to help seniors recover from this isolation and where those efforts are needed.
What are the impacts of being stuck at home alone for months? What new technologies have we mastered? These and many other questions are on a survey.
Manini says the results may have many applications.
"To design better interventions, design ways to build outreach programs, to connect with people more often. And, I think, just having that knowledge alone may create a spark to you'll just call your grandparents more often than you normally do," he said.
The survey takes about 45 minutes to complete. It's dsigned for anyone 20 and older, but the focus is on people 65 and older.
