Fox was a graduate of Central High School in Philadelphia and earned his engineering degree in 1950 at Georgia Institute of Technology.
He served from 1950 to 1953 in the Navy during the Korean War.
Upon returning to Philadelphia in 1953, he established his real estate management company, Fox Companies.
He was associated with developing the Wachovia Center (now the Wells Fargo Center) in South Philadelphia's sports complex, and Chesterbrook outside of Wayne.
Fox joined Temple's board in 1967 and served as chairman from 1983 to 2000.
The business school was named in his honor in 1999.
Temple President Richard Englert says Fox "had a tremendous and lasting impact" on the university.
