PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The NFL held the first round of its virtual Draft Thursday night, and the Eagles went for some help on offense.

Finding a speedy wide receiver was at the top of the Eagles’ wish list for the first round, and General Manager Howie Roseman feels they found who they were looking for by drafting Jalen Reagor from Texas Christian University for the 21st pick.

“It’s how the coaches vision these guys being used and what they’re looking for to fit our quarterback skillset,” said Roseman, “so that was what we were trying to do — find the right fit for the Philadelphia Eagles and where we are as a football team can be a compliment to the other players we think we have on offense.”

While Reagor doesn’t know when he can start working at the team facility due to the current pandemic, he made it clear he believes he is just what the Eagles were looking for.

“I feel like I’m a great vertical threat,” he said. “I can run any route in the route tree. I’m an electric player and I’ll make an immediate impact when given the chance. I’m coming in ready to work and ready to learn.”

Reagor said this moment is a sigh of relief.

“All the hard work you put in for this moment — my whole life I told my people, my family, like, I’m going to be a first-rounder,” he said.

Reagor’s father, Montae, is a former defensive tackle who played for the Eagles in 2007.
