PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The School District of Philadelphia says Ben Franklin High School and Science Leadership Academy will remain closed indefinitely due to asbestos testing.
Asbestos was recently discovered in the boiler room and a first-floor common area that was under construction.
The building that houses both schools has been closed since Tuesday.
The district is holding a town hall Monday at 9 a.m. at its headquarters for students and families to get their questions answered.
All district schools will be closed Wednesday for Yom Kippur.
