At a Capitol press conference Monday, state lawmakers urged action on policies to stop workplace harassment. Commonwealth Victim Advocate Jennifer Storm took the opportunity to call for Leach's resignation.
"Time’s up on allowing our elected officials to bully, harass, sexually demean and mock their colleagues. Time’s up for Daylin Leach," she said.
In December 2017, allegations surfaced accusing the Democrat, who represents parts of Delaware and Montgomery counties, of inappropriate touching and sexual misconduct.
Leach withdrew his bid for Congress at the time, but he has not resigned from his position as state senator — though many have called for him to do so.
The latest calls stem from a preliminary report of an inquiry commissioned by Senate Democrats. Leach refuses to resign, insisting that report exonerates him.
Costa did not say what action Democrats may seek if Leach does not resign.
"We’re waiting for a final report, and I think at that point in time we’ll have more things to say," he said.
