PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Animal Shelters are always looking for creative ways to raise money to support programs and the animals they care for. The Pennsylvania SPCA has a fundraiser that allows donors to show their love for Valentine's Day.

Those who can't adopt a cat or dog can still support shelter animals who have been rescued from cruelty and neglect by buying a valentine.

"If you just want to purchase one, that's great. Or you can purchase as many as you want," Kocher said. "And the proceeds all go towards to our life-saving mission."

She said that includes the feeding of and care for the animals while they are in the shelter, and it also goes toward helping fund their efforts to rescue animals from cruelty and neglect.
