PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — No one knows yet when professional sports will come back, but if the NBA does return this season, we can bet they'll find a creative way to finish it out. Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small Sr. is hoping the NBA Playoffs can come to Boardwalk Hall.
"It's my goal to recruit and to bring people here," he said, "and all I can say is: We are tryig."
The site would be Boardwalk Hall. Small emphasized it would only happen after the health crisis had calmed down.
"We're trying to work that out and bring the NBA here once things settle down a little bit. And as I stated, this goes to show the city of Atlantic City's facilities — that a lot of people are looking to Atlantic City at a time of need," Small said.
There wasn't much Small could say about the report, but it's clear he's trying.
"That is something that will be good after get through this pandemic," he said. "And it will be good for the local economy if we got the NBA here. I mean, it's a win-win."
