PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A dog was reunited with her owners, who drove from Tennessee to Philadelphia to get her, after she went missing four years ago.

Gucci is a 15-year-old pit bull.

"My wife, she’s been looking for her dog for 3 1/2 to four years," said Jameson Chamlee. His wife Jodi never gave up hope when Gucci went misssing shortly after they moved from Georgia to Tennessee in 2016.

"I have to thank everyone here in Philly that reached out to my wife and has just been fantastic," Chamlee said.

"And she has spent hours, countless hours trying to track her dog down because it's like a child," he added. "My daughter grew up with her."

Philadelphia police found Gucci wandering around.

Jessica Graaf, co-founder of the Philly Bully Team rescue, said Gucci had to get care at Penn Vet first.

"She had really bad skin, she wasn't walking well, her stomach was distended," said Graaf. "All sorts of issues going on."

Then ACCT Philly called Jessica and Marvin Graaf, saying the owners had reached out.

Marvin Graaf said everything matched up, like the ears and white belly markings, and Jodi had pictures to prove it.

"Especially after such a long period of time and the fact that the dog was originally lost down south and now resurfacing here," he said. "It's just such a miracle."

Gucci is now on her way home to Morristown, Tennessee with the family who never forgot her.

"This is just the best thing that could've happened for my wife," said Chamlee.
