Tyson Foods recalls Weaver ready-to-eat chicken patties due to possible contamination

Tyson Foods Inc. has issued a recall for more than 39,000 pounds of Weaver brand frozen chicken patties.

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Tyson Foods Inc. has issued a recall for more than 39,000 pounds of Weaver frozen chicken patties because they may be contaminated with foreign matter. 

The patties are sold fully cooked and frozen and come in a 26-oz. resealable plastic bags that were shipped to stores nationwide.

The products subject to recall have an establishment number printed on the back label reading: P-13456. The "best if used by date" reads "Jan312020." Lot codes to look for include:

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service urges anyone concerned about an injury or illness to contact a doctor. Anyone who has purchased these products is urged not to consume them but to throw them away or return them to the store they were bought from.
