Upper Darby continues to mitigate sanitation workers' COVID-19 quarantine

UPPER DARPY TWP., Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — As Upper Darby Township’s sanitation department quarantines for two weeks because of a COVID-19 outbreak, trash drop-off sites will continue to be available through Friday until 2:30 p.m.

There are two sites: one at Naylor’s Run Park, the other at Observatory Hill Park.

Residents need to show identification to dispose of regular household trash.

Officials say 140,000 pounds of trash has been picked up at homes and businesses in the last week using contractors and temporary workers.

The regular sanitation crews are expected back on the job Aug. 24.

The Township says Friday trash pick up is on schedule. Trash missed on Monday and Tuesday will also be collected Friday.
