Kristen Chase, who works with Pay it Forward Group and is the social media director for Girls Nite In Online, said Girls Nite In Online allows women to connect virtually through online classes or workshops on Zoom.
All the instructors are women, but she said anyone can drop in on any class.
"While the classes are free for the attendees, attendees are donating to their Venmo through kind of a virtual tip jar,” Chase said.
All proceeds go to the instructor.
She said GNIonline does not charge a fee — they just want to help women, who, she said, tend to bear a lot of the family responsibilities.
"There are no breaks, but we're really trying! I think that's what's so exciting about GNIonline.com is that we really are trying to give women an opportunity to take 45 minutes out of their day, put some headphones in, hop on, connect with other women out there and learn a new skill,” she said.
The site has classes ranging from yoga and workout classes, to workshops from design experts and life coaches. They also have happy hours on Friday, where bartenders from the city teach women how to make cocktails.
And if you have a skill to share, there's a tab on the website where you can apply to lead a workshop.
