PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A weekend storm is hitting the Philadelphia region that could bring snow, sleet and freezing rain followed by bitter cold, high winds and icy conditions, making travel hazardous and power outages possible.
Winter storm warnings have been issued for the Poconos.
The storm is expected to bring a wintry mix Saturday, before turning into rain overnight.
The rain or wintry mix is expected to end by midday Sunday, but temperatures will plummet, creating the possibility of freezing on roadways.
Both Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf and New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy on Friday declared a state of emergency ahead of the storm.
