“I’m just testing myself on what else is there in me and trying to get my players to do the same. Being a better father, being a better husband,” Wright said.
In addition to missing out on March Madness, Wright said he will be missing another sport that was supposed to get underway this week as a fan.
“We go to opening day. We’ll go down to the Phillies game. We love ‘Bark in the Park.’ We always bring the dogs and hide up in the top section. We’re going to really miss it,” he added.
Wright has been impressed with the way his players have handled the disappointment of missing out on the Big East and NCAA tournaments, but added they have all been able to put the situation in perspective.
“The nursing school at Villanova has all these nurses out here working. Let’s look at what these people are doing. Let’s look at what our family is doing all the time to support us. Let’s be at home to support them,” he added.
Despite being in New York earlier this month, Wright said none of his players show any symptoms of the virus.
