PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- A woman has been arraigned on charges of dragging a Delaware State Trooper with her SUV.

Authorities say 52-year-old Yira Graciano-Toala of Wilmington was arrested Friday, and arraigned on charges of vehicular assault, reckless endangerment and related offenses.

State Police say Graciano-Toala got into an argument with a state trooper who was directing traffic at the intersection of Kirkwood Highway and Farrand Drive Monday afternoon because the traffic lights had stopped working. She then tried to speed off, and in the process she dragged the state trooper about a 10th of a mile down Farrand Drive before he was able to get free.

The trooper, who is an 18-year veteran of the force, was treated at an area hospital for mostly minor injuries.

Graciano-Toala is currently free on bail.
