If you've spent any time on Haddonfield-Berlin Road, it probably wasn't always a pleasant drive along the four-lane concrete surface through Cherry Hill. And Camden County Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo says that's not even taking traffic volume into account.
"Depending on what time you're going to be on that road, it could be as short as 10 minutes or as long as 45 minutes to an hour," she said,
But she says starting May 13, the County begins a yearlong, $4.3 million project to resurface and improve the three-mile stretch between Kresson Road and Evesham Road. The first phase will begin north of Interstate 295, and the project will finish at the Voorhees border.
A right-turn lane is being added on westbound Evesham Road so that drivers can turn onto Haddonfield-Berlin Road toward Interstate 295 without waiting as much for traffic headed straight. And a new left turn lane is also being built so northbound drivers on Haddonfield-Berlin Road - that's Route 561 - can access Burnt Mill Road.
Most work will be done between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
