When police arrived at around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, the victim was unresponsive.
"He was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his neck and chest area," Chief Inspector Scott Small said Friday, adding the man was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police believe robbery might be the motive, because a large amount of cash and jewelry was found on the coffee table. He says two other men were at home during the shooting and they’ve been taken to be interviewed by homicide detectives.
It appears at least one person escaped from the house by jumping from a second-story window.
“There is some disturbance on the front lawn. There’s a light that’s knocked over. There appears to be a footprint from someone jumping. We’re not certain at this time," Small said.
No arrests have been made so far, and police are still investigating.
