PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Philadelphia Soul will look to get back on the winning track Saturday afternoon when they visit the Washington Valor.

The 2-1 Soul are coming off their first loss of the season as they fell at home this past Saturday to Albany, 57-48.

"We just couldn't get that stop when we needed it," Soul head coach Clint Dolezel said. "I just kept waiting for something good to happen and it never did for us. It was one of those games. They played great; hats off to Albany."

The Soul got a tremendous performance in defeat from wide receiver Lonnie Outlaw. He caught nine passes for 191 yards and three touchdowns, earning AFL Offensive Player of the Week honors.

"He had a great game, right off the bat," Dolezel said. "Funny thing is, our plan was to rotate three different receivers at 'Z,' but Lonnie got off to the hot start and just never saw a reason to take him out."

Washington, the defending Arena Bowl champion, is off to a 1-2 start this season. They are coming off a 41-34 win over Atlantic City.

Dolezel said any discussion of the Valor starts with their quarterback, Arvell Nelson.

"Arvell is the key to them," Dolezel added. "Their quarterback is a dual threat and he shows it every week that if you don't contain him, he'll beat you with his legs."

Saturday's game gets underway at 3:30 p.m.
