Ronan Farrow, the award-winning journalist and bestselling author, joined KYW Newsradio’s Reporters Roundup to preview his new podcast, “The Catch and Kill Podcast.”
Over two years, Farrow investigated and uncovered allegations of sexual abuse against Weinstein.
The podcast — by Pineapple Street Studios, a division of RADIO.COM — features in-depth conversations with key sources from Farrow’s reporting on Weinstein, plus never-before-heard audio recordings from his investigative work for his New York Times bestselling book, “Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators.”
Whether you read the book or not, Farrow said the podcast outlines the investigation from the beginning.
“You can either have read the book and want more, and you will absolutely get more from the podcast, or the podcast can be an interesting point of entry,” he said, “where you get to know some of these people, and then might want to know more about the plot they were involved in, and you can get that from the book. It's designed either to stand on its own or work in tandem with the book.”
Episodes feature interviews with the dozens of other people who brought this story of abuse to light, including journalists, lawyers, victims, private investigators, whistleblowers and spies — yes, actual spies. Farrow then explains how each piece came together in real time.
“The book and now the podcast make clear that the justice system was subverted at various times, and I think a lot of those sources are hoping against hope that it won't happen again,” he added.
“The Catch and Kill Podcast” premieres Tuesday with weekly episodes. Listen and subscribe on the RADIO.COM app.
