PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — If you've never heard the "Baby Shark" song, I apologize in advance.

The participatory song portrays a family of sharks, starting with — you guessed it — baby shark. Hand motions of sharks grow in size as the song describes mommy, daddy, grandma and grandpa sharks.

"Baby Shark" falls under Ariana Grande's "Thank U, Next" at No. 1 this week, and lies in the company of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's "Shallow" from the "A Star Is Born" soundtrack, which came in at No. 29 — you know, that little song that won a Golden Globe last week.

According to Nielsen Music, "Baby Shark" earned 20.8 million streams last week. But its views online were a major factor to its Billboard debut. Of the total streams last week, 73 percent were heard via video.

"Baby Shark" has attracted 2.1 billion global views on YouTube to date, according to Nielsen, ranking it among the 30 most-viewed videos in the platform's history.
