Many movies and television series, from Harry Potter to "Friends," have been immortalized in miniature over the years using Lego bricks. One recent design submitted by a fan could make a dream come true for fans of the 1986 science fiction movie "Short Circuit."

The design, recently submitted on the Danish toy company's Ideas platform, recreates the iconic robot character Johnny 5 from the movie using 2,711 Lego bricks and pieces. If it achieves enough popularity, No. 5 might indeed, as the character says in the film, be "alive."

The "Short Circuit" Lego creation, submitted by RJ BrickBuilds, is a near-perfect replica of Johnny 5 and features a fully motorized body. The creator used Lego's Powered-Up brand of motors, which allows the robot's arms, head, laser cannon and body to be controlled via the Powered Up app, according to Movie Web.

The design was submitted on the Lego Ideas platform, where fans can vote to bring the design to mass production. If a design gets more than 10,000 fan votes, the company will review it and possibly release it for fans to purchase.

"Short Circuit" fans are now left to hope that the design gets enough votes so they might have a Johnny 5 of their own one day.
