The first major Marvel movie team-up movie since “Avengers: Endgame,” “Avengers: Doomsday” is now in production.
On Wednesday, we learned which Avengers have assembled for the new movie, which will feature Robert Downey Jr. going from being the heroic Iron Man to playing the sinister Dr. Doom.
Marvel rolled a live video stream on social media revealing the actors that will appear in the movie.
A different director’s chair with a name on the back has been revealed very 15 minutes during the stream, which had well over 5 million people watching Wednesday afternoon.
Here are the Avengers that have been announced:

The nearly 5-and-a-half-hour reveal ended with Downey Jr. walking to his chair and sitting down.
While “X-Men” stars Patrick Stewart previously appeared in “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness” as a version of Professor Charles Xavier — and Kelsey Grammer made a cameo on the Disney+ series “Ms. Marvel” — this will be the MCU debut for Ian McKellen and James Marsden, who played Magneto and Cyclops in the original Fox movie franchise.
“Avengers: Doomsday,” directed by Joe and Anthony Russo (“Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame”) is scheduled for a May 2026 release in theaters. It will be followed by “Avengers: Secret Wars” in 2027.
