Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins dead at 50

LOS ANGELES (KNX) – Taylor Hawkins, the drummer for the rock band Foo Fighters, has died.

The band shared the following message with fans on its social media pages:

“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”

Details surrounding Hawkins death is unknown at this time. He was in Bogotá, Colombia. The band was scheduled to perform at Lollapalooze Brazil on Sunday.

The Foo Fighters are scheduled to play at Lincoln Financial Field July 24.

Hawkins was 50-years-old.
