Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston are embarking on another “Murder Mystery.”
The Hollywood stars confirmed the news in a remote video during Netflix’s “TUDUM” event on Saturday.
According to the Daily Mail, a sequel to the made-for-streaming comedy was reported mere months after its release in June 2019.
It’s not a surprise that Netflix greenlit the follow-up as the original film drew in nearly 30.9 million households in its first three days. That number more-than doubled reaching roughly 73 million households in the first four weeks.
The “Friends” star and the “Hubie’s Halloween” actor kicked off the video by suggesting that they should grab dinner and catch-up.
Aniston offered to travel with Sandler and grab multiple dinners all around the world, to which he responded: “Jennifer, the last time we did that, a lot of people died, so I’m scared of that.”
“Honey, that was a movie we did,” Aniston clarified.
Sandler struggled to make the distinction between fiction and reality, so Aniston suggested “no murders this time."
When Sandler opted for a “few murders,” the 52-year-old actress advocated for “more mystery” instead.
At this point, David Spade -- who may possibly appear in the sequel -- hopped on the call to ask if he could stay at Aniston’s place while she was away.
The clip ended by revealing the title: “Murder Mystery 2.”
The original comedy found the real-life friends starring as Audrey and Nick Spitz, a couple living in New York who finally go on their European vacation only to find themselves at the top of the suspects list following a dangerous incident on a billionaire’s luxurious yacht.
No premiere date or plot have been revealed for the whodunit sequel, but fans can anticipate “more mystery. some murders.”
