(Audacy) — This year, the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show will be a hip-hop-laden performance.

On Feb. 13, 2022, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar will take the stage to perform during the NFL’s biggest night.

Taking place at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the show came together due to a partnership between the NFL, Pepsi and Roc Nation. This halftime performance marks the first time that Dre, Snoop, Slim Shady, Blige, and Lamar will all take the stage together.

The Super Bowl will come to Los Angeles after 30 years and utilize the newly constructed SoFi Stadium, which is home to both the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers. Super Bowl LVI will air on NBC.

In a newly released statement, Dre shared, “The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career.”

He added, “I’m grateful to JAY-Z, Roc Nation, the NFL, and Pepsi as well as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar for joining me in what will be an unforgettable cultural moment.”

Dre has notably produced multiple songs for each of the other four artists taking the stage this year. Eminem and Lamar spent a portion of their careers on Dre’s Aftermath Records, while, most notably, Dre produced all of Snoop’s debut record, "Doggystyle."

All of the named artists performing at this year’s show have been featured on at least one of Dre’s albums throughout the decades.

A press release adds, “As part of the collaboration around the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show, Pepsi and the NFL have also joined together to support the launch of Regional School #1, a magnet high school in South Los Angeles that is set to open for students next fall as part of the LA Unified School District. The high school is based on the nationally recognized USC Iovine and Young Academy, a program founded by Jimmy Iovine and Andre 'Dr. Dre' Young, that will offer a unique educational model focused on the theme of Integrated Design, Technology, and Entrepreneurship."
