PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Ben McIntosh was one of the best lacrosse players ever to wear the uniform at Drexel University. He was the No. 1 pick in the 2014 National Lacrosse League draft and the forward was recently acquired by the Philadelphia Wings.

McIntosh was the Player of the Year in the Colonial Athletic Association as a senior in 2014, as he lead Drexel to its first ever CAA title and NCAA Tournament berth. He looks back at his college days fondly.

"I loved it. I mean, lacrosse aside, I am still incredibly close with a lot of those guys that I got to play with. I really, really love seeing them and now living in Philly, I get to see them quite a bit," he said.

"Just the friendships, and I still talk to (Head Coach Brian) Voelker every now and then. So just maintaining those, and it's such a positive experience and such a big part of my life still."

McIntosh has been a star since joining the NLL. He talks about his love for the sport of lacrosse.

"The really cool thing about lacrosse is it's not one of those big sports. No one is in here playing it because they are getting millions of dollars playing lacrosse. Everyone plays it because they love it. It just attracts a really, really good type of person and personality," he shared.

"So I just love being in the locker room, meeting the people, and playing alongside guys that just truly love playing lacrosse."
