The highly anticipated debut of Phillies 19-year-old starting pitcher Andrew Painter took place on Wednesday in Fort Meyers, Florida against the Minnesota Twins.

Painter faced eight batters, allowing three hits and one earned run in two innings, while striking out one. He threw 19 fastballs, averaging 96.8 miles per hour, topping out at 99 miles per hour.

Painter, MLB.com's 6th best overall prospect, was the Phillies' 13th overall selection in the 2021 MLB Draft and fans are eagerly awaiting his Major League Debut, which is likely to come at some point during the 2023 season.

Painter is one of the Phillies' starting pitchers competing for the fifth spot in the rotation this Spring.
