PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — As the Phillies celebrate in their locker room with champagne showers and cheers, the mixtape of three Northeast Philly brothers will be echoing through the halls.

"We are really excited to just have the opportunity to be part of this and be part of the locker room and kind of curate the vibes for the Phillies season and for the fans, too,” said 26-year-old Jimmie Armentani.

With some guidance from Phillies catcher Garrett Stubbs, Jimmie and his brothers, George, 28, and John, 22, created “Winners Win,” the Philadelphia Phillies 2024 official postgame mix, available on YouTube and SoundCloud.

The Armentani brothers are an Electronic Dance Music (EDM) DJ trio born and raised in Philly. They got connected to Stubbs a couple of years ago, and then this February, Stubbs asked them about updating the team's victory mixtape with song requests from the players.

“Knowing that they grew up here, they talked about their family being die-hard Phillies fans, so I think it’s just kind of an ode to the city and testament to the kind of fans that we have and I felt like those guys kind of represented exactly what the city does,” Stubbs said.

George says there were six or seven iterations of the mixtape before getting it to where it is today.

“Garrett would send us videos from the locker room afterward and he would be like, ‘Hey, the guys really loved this part today, they really liked this,’ so it was a collaborative project all season long and the plan was to once they made it to Red October, start sharing it with the fans so they could hear a little bit of what the team was listening to, what was hot with the team,” George said.

John says not only are he and his brothers getting positive feedback from the Phillies for their work on “Winners Win,” but Phillies fans are also showing the love on social media and playing their remix.

"We’re able to get this much support from the Phillies Fans and it's like, we are Phillies Fans ourselves, it means the world,” John said.

The album cover is an illustration of Stubbs and left fielder Kyle Schwarber celebrating a win. It was created by the PACA Company with Stubbs and is also featured on the front of charitable “Winners Win” t-shirts, with proceeds benefiting Schwarber's Neighborhood Heroes Foundation, which helps first responders, military personnel and their families. The shirts can be bought at BreakingT.com/win.

The Armentani brothers believe Philadelphia is ingrained in them, including their love of the city’s sports teams. Their parents are huge fans, as is their grandfather. In fact, John said their grandfather is probably the biggest fan they know — constantly communicating with his grandkids about what’s happening in the game. George said their grandfather doesn’t have cable, so when someone hits a home run, they will call him with a score update.

The boys are also no strangers to KYW Newsradio. As teens, they were part of our Newstudies Program.

Jimmie, who used to come dressed like a TV anchorman, says his big takeaway from the program was to follow your dreams.

“As I got into college I realized my passion was behind music, music production, DJing, and just to have an opportunity like this we were able to execute and follow our dreams with the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia sports landscape. And tie in what our dream was to really bring it together for the entire city,” he said.
