PHILADELPHIA (94WIP SportsRadio) — The story of the MLB postseason so far, from a fan perspective, has been the incredible atmosphere at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
But CBS Sports college football analyst and apparent Braves fan (based on his bio and location) Barrett Sallee controversially called the atmosphere at Atlanta's Truist Park "the best in baseball" in an X post including a video clip of the final out in Game 2 of the NLDS series.
Of course, this is a subjective opinion, but baseball fans — including Braves fans — took to X to tell Sallee that he's wrong.
In Game 1 of the NLDS, the Phillies beat the Braves 3-0 — and Braves fans threw debris onto the field.
Yesterday, on Atlanta radio station 92.9 The Game, ESPN's Buster Olney called the Phillies' crowd the best in baseball.
“The Phillies' crowd, I can tell you this, is insane. Right now, it’s the best crowd, in my opinion, in baseball. It’s so loud,” Olney told Shapiro and Golden. He added that, he believes, during the Phillies-Marlins series, the noise of the crowd had an impact on the game, but the Braves should not be bothered.
“I don’t think it’s going to have any impact on the Braves’ players, but it’s clear it does juice up the Phillies' players."
