PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — When 69-year-old Bill Gwynn of Conshohocken was brought home from the hospital after his birth, his mom said the Phillies were on the TV … and that was only the beginning of a lifelong fandom.

While Gwynn’s heart beats Philadelphia sports, he raised three kids in New York sports territory — West Milford, New Jersey.

Naturally, one would understand if they ended up rooting for Philadelphia's rivals, but that is not the case.

“It makes me proud. I'm proud that they have remained fans under not great conditions, being up in the middle of New York fans, but they're true fans and probably will be for life. So, that makes me very proud,” said Gwynn, who works at the Linc on game days.

Gwynn is KYW Newsradio’s Philadelphia Sports Fan of the Week. Take a listen to his story below.
